Perini & Scott Masterman Pty Ltd (PSM) commenced trading on 1st April 1993. The company combined the skills and experience in turnkey system integration and support on crane systems projects formerly offered by Industrial Systems Pty Ltd, largely using components of GE (USA) manufacture, with the infrastructure of a long-established manufacturing organisation in the power electronics and equipment fields, Perini & Scott (A/Asia) Pty Ltd.

PSM presently associates with importers and distributors of suitable core drives, components and DC motors to continue the business of quality systems integration and support to crane builders and also end-user clients. The company is also the Authorised Sales Representative to the Materials Handling Industry in Australia for GE Industrial Systems of Salem, Virginia, USA.

PSM personnel have been directly responsible for the electrical design of twenty-nine rubber-tyred gantry cranes and four ship-to-shore quay cranes built new or retrofitted and successfully put into service in Australia and overseas for container handling duty. On these cranes a number of innovations have been incorporated ahead of overseas practice.

  RETROFIT ELECTRICS GE-Fanuc Series 90-30 PLC with Genius data bus and FieldControl Remote I/O stations to replace AEG Modicon A500 PLC with Bitbus, GE-Fanuc CIMPLICITY MMI software for Windows NT to replace the existing AEG local CMS running under RTX.
  FEATURES The retrofit equipment was installed in a way that kept the cranes operational for the longest possible times. Cutover was accomplished with the boom required to be lowered for only two nights. The project was performed as a joint venture wherein the System responsibility was borne by P&SM and the Commercial responsibility by NELCO Limited of Mumbai.
